What are prostaglandin analogues?
Isopropyl cloprostenate (IC) plays a pivotal role in our enhancing serums. As a prostaglandin analogue, it is recognized by the INCI (International Nomenclature Cosmetic Ingredient) as a hair conditioning agent.
INCI is the global authority on classifying and identifying cosmetic ingredients, serving as the beauty industry’s go-to reference.
Not all lash serums deliver the same results. We strive for excellence, and by incorporating IC alongside other carefully selected ingredients, our formulas consistently deliver the outstanding results you’ve come to expect.
Are the iGlow serums safe to use?
It’s very important to us to provide high-quality products that are also safe to use. We would never offer a product that could cause unwanted side effects like orbital fat loss or changes in iris color.
iGlow has been around for 12 years, and we wouldn’t still be here if our products didn’t meet the high standards our customers expect from us.
The iGlow Lash and Brow Maximizer Serums have been thoroughly tested to ensure their quality and gentleness. Some people may have concerns after reading about side effects related to medical treatments for glaucoma patients, but lash serums are designed for cosmetic purposes.
It’s important to distinguish between these two types of products, as they are very different both in ingredients and how they are used.
The iGlow formula contains a low concentration of IC, which has been shown to support eyelash growth through a conditioning effect when the serum is used as intended:
That means applying a thin stroke on the skin of the eyelid daily, unlike medical solutions with other types of prostaglandins that are eyedrops applied repeatedly directly to the eye.
Why are so many talking about the negative side effects, then?
Adverse side effects of prostaglandin analogues are usually only reported in studies where higher concentrations of medically used prostaglandin analogues, such as bimataprost, are present in a medical solution for glaucoma patients. Not from isopropyl cloprostenate, which is the ingredient used in iGlow Lash Maximizer.
Long story short on the invention of lash serums, and how it's easy to confuse the side effects from lash serums with medical treatments:
At some point it was noticed that glaucoma patients got longer lashes as a side effect from their medications. These were eyedrops that was repeatedly in direct contact with the eye. Then someone had the bright idea to create lash serums.
Because of the potential adverse side effects that were known from glaucoma medications, alternative and gentler ingredients without the negative side effects were developed.
IC is one of several synthetic prostaglandin analogues used to promote eyelash growth in different lash serums.
As they are both prostaglandin analogues, it's easy to confuse them. However, bimatoprost is a prescription medication, whereas isopropyl cloprostenate is more commonly found in over-the-counter cosmetic products.
It cannot be understated how much of a difference it is between how the two different products are used, as well as the concentration levels of the ingredients.
Is IC synthetic?
Yes, IC is a synthetic cosmetic ingredient that mimics the action of prostaglandins.
Is synthetic bad?
This is a common misunderstanding. "Synthetic" simply means the ingredient was made in a laboratory.
In reality, synthetic versions can sometimes be better because their formulation is more precisely controlled.
Can iGlow cause irritations?
Although it's rare, allergies or sensitivities can occur with any skincare product. If you're sensitive to makeup, we recommend doing a patch test before using a serum.
It's important to apply a lash serum correctly. Many people think it should be applied directly to the lashes, while it should actually be applied to the eyelid, like an eyeliner, but slightly above the lash line.
Only a small amount is needed, and what's on the applicator is enough for both eyelids. If too much is applied, it may get into your eyes, which isn’t harmful but can cause mild irritation like redness or itching.
Worth mentioning
iGlow Lash Maximizer should be used daily until you have reached the desired results. When you’ll see changes depends on your lash growth cycle. The serum works during the growth phase, which is why most people start to see results within 3-8 weeks of regular, daily use. Just keep applying it consistently, and you’ll notice the difference!
While waiting for results, it’s normal to start paying closer attention to your lashes. You might notice them shedding and growing back, which is completely normal. Lashes go through a cycle of shedding and regrowth, and you just become more aware of it as they start to lengthenYou can find answers to the most frequently asked questions below, but don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly if you have any questions that aren’t covered; we’re more than happy to help

iGlow Lash Maximizer
What is it, and how does it work?
iGlow is the eyelash serum that actually delivers on its promises and is perfect for anyone dreaming of long natural lashes! See what our customers are sharing! The serum nourishes and stimulates growth, allowing lashes to reach their full potential. Results typically become evident after 3-8 weeks of daily use.
How do I use it?
iGlow eyelash serum should be used daily until you achieve the desired results. Afterward, you only need to apply it 2-4 times a week to maintain the results. Follow these simple steps:
- Remove makeup and cleanse the skin. Avoid using oil-based makeup removers or cleansers as oil may remain on the skin and prevent the serum from reaching the hair follicles.
- Apply the serum like an eyeliner but with some distance from the lashes to prevent it from getting into the eyes. (It's not dangerous to get the serum in the eye, but it may cause slight irritation. Rinse with water if you notice this.)
- Wait a few minutes for the serum to be absorbed into the skin. Done! Now you can continue with your daily routine
When do the results appear?
When starting with the serum, brush daily until you see the effect, then maintain with 2-4 applications per week. For the serum to work, it's essential that the skin is completely clean and dry when applying. Moisturizers or products containing oil can create a barrier that hinders the active ingredients from penetrating the skin. Most people see changes after 3-8 weeks of daily use, but some may need to be more patient. As long as you apply it daily and avoid products that may hinder the active ingredients from reaching the hair follicles, it aligns with the growth cycle of the lashes.
What happens if I stop using it?
Lashes will follow the natural growth cycle regardless of whether you use the serum, and they will be regularly replaced. If a lash falls out, it means the hair follicle has started producing a new hair in the growth phase. If this follicle is not exposed to iGlow, the lash will grow to its natural length. The replacement of lashes occurs gradually over time, and during a transitional period, you may experience varying lengths of lashes.
Who can use the serum?
iGlow eyelash serum is suitable for anyone wanting longer and stronger lashes. Allergies are very rare, but if you have a history of allergies or very sensitive skin, we recommend doing a patch test before using the serum. Brush a little serum in the elbow crease and wait for 24 hours. If there is no reaction, you can usually use the serum. If you experience irritation, contact us by email, and we will assist you. Due to ethical reasons, no tests have been conducted on vulnerable groups such as pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, those under 18, or individuals undergoing chemotherapy. The absence of tests means we do not recommend the serum for these groups. It's a precautionary note, and it's up to each individual to decide whether to use the serum.
Can it be used on lower lashes?
It can be used on the lower lashes too, and we recommend using the "last bit" on the brush after applying to both eyelids. Remember to maintain some distance from the actual lashes.
Can the eyelash serum be used on eyebrows?
Eyelash and eyebrow serums have the same active ingredients, but the growth cycle of lashes and eyebrows differs, so the serums are formulated differently. We recommend using the serum tailored to the area you want to improve. The eyebrow serum also has a wider brush than the eyelash serum, and using it on lashes may make it difficult to dose correctly. While the eyelash serum can be used on eyebrows, we cannot guarantee that you will get as good results as using the eyebrow serum on eyebrows.
Can I tint my lashes or use extensions?
Yes! Lashes can be tinted as usual, and since the serum does not contain oil, it can be used with extensions if desired.
Can I get a sample?
Since the product must be used over time to show results, unfortunately, we do not have samples.
Is iGlow Eyelash Serum safe?
Yes, iGlow is entirely safe to use. The serum has undergone thorough testing, including clinical, dermatological (skin), and ophthalmological (eye) tests, to ensure that quality and gentleness are optimal. Documentation received by our manufacturer from independent third-party actors, combined with studies on the ingredients in our formula, indicates that our serum is safe and effective.
How long does a bottle last?
An iGlow Lash Maximizer contains 3 ml and usually lasts about 3 months with daily use. Shelf life: 24 months before opening, 6 months after opening.
What are the ingredients?
Lash Maximizer serum is based on Hyaluronic Acid (which moisturizes/strengthens hair), L-Proline (an amino acid that strengthens hair), Ginseng, a botanical blend consisting of Grape Seed Extract and Chamomile (strengthens hair follicles), and finally, prostaglandin derivative Isopropyl Cloprostenate (IC), which is highly effective in boosting lash length and fullness.
Someone I know received a free serum. Can I also get one?
We are committed to showing genuine results, so we only showcase pictures we have received from those who actually use the serum! If you have pictures or videos of your lash journey from start to finish, we would be very happy if you want to share them with us! iGlow Brow Maximizer
What is it, and how does it work?
iGlow Brow Maximizer is the brow serum that delivers on its promises! Perfect for anyone dreaming of full and strong brows! See what our customers are sharing! The serum nourishes and stimulates growth, allowing your brows to grow fuller and stronger. Results typically become evident after 6-14 weeks.
How do I use it?
iGlow brow serum should be used morning and evening until you achieve the desired results.
- Apply a thin strip of serum directly on the skin under or above the brow. Apply a little extra in areas with sparse hair. See how the serum is used!
- Wait a few minutes for the serum to be absorbed into the skin. Done! Now you can continue with your daily routine!
When do the results appear?
When starting with the serum, brush twice morning and
evening until you achieve the desired result, then maintain with 2-4 applications per week. For the serum to work, it's important that the skin is completely clean and dry when applying. Moisturizers or products containing oil can create a barrier that hinders the active ingredients from penetrating the skin. Most people see changes after 6-14 weeks of daily use, but some may need to be more patient. As long as you apply it twice daily and avoid products that may hinder the active ingredients from reaching the hair follicles, this is related to the brow growth cycle. The brow growth cycle lasts about 20 weeks (5 months), during which brow hairs go through three phases: Anagen (growth phase), Catagen (transitional phase), and Telogen (resting phase). Each brow hair follows its own cycle and goes through the phases at different times. If all brow hairs followed the same cycle, they would be replaced simultaneously.
Anagen: In the anagen phase, your brow hairs grow, and this is where iGlow serum works its magic. Brows initially grow to a specific length and thickness, but when you apply iGlow serum, brows have the opportunity to grow stronger and fuller than they would normally. The serum can also awaken inactive hair follicles, prompting them to produce hair.
Catagen: When brow hairs have reached their full potential, they stop growing, and the hair follicle begins to shrink. If a brow hair is plucked or falls out, it will not start growing again until this phase is over.
Telogen: This is the longest phase of the growth cycle and usually lasts over 100 days. Brow hairs in this phase will eventually fall out, and a new brow hair will grow back after a few weeks. This brow hair will then start the cycle anew.
What happens if I stop using it?
Brows will follow the natural growth cycle regardless of whether you use the serum, and brow hairs will be regularly replaced. When a brow hair falls out, it means the hair follicle has started producing a new hair in the growth phase. If this follicle is not exposed to iGlow, the brow hair will grow to its natural length and thickness.
