What is iGlow Lash Maximizer and how does it work?

iGlow Lash Maximizer is a lash serum that does what is promises and is perfect for anyone dreaming of long natural lashes! The serum is produced by iGlow, a registered Norwegian brand from Bergen. iGlow Lash Serum provides nourishment and stimulates growth so that the lashes can reach their full potential. Results are most often visible after 3-8 weeks of daily use.

How do I use it?
iGlow lash serum should be applied daily until the desired result has been achieved. After that, you only need to apply it 2-4 times a week to maintain the result.

Follow these simple steps:

1. Remove makeup and cleanse the skin. Do not use oil-based makeup remover or cleanser as oil can remain on the skin and prevent the serum from reaching the hair follicles. It is important that your skin is completely clean and dry when the serum is applied.

2. Apply the serum to the eyelid (not the lashes!) like an eyeliner, but keep a distance of 1 to 3 mm from the actual lash line so that it doesn’t run into the eyes. (It is not harmful if the serum gets into the eye, but it can cause irritation. Rinse with water if this happens). See how the serum is used!

3. Wait a few minutes for the serum to absorb into the skin. Done! Now you can continue with your daily routine!

When will I see results?
Most people see changes after 3-8 weeks of daily use, but some may need to be a bit more patient. As long as the serum is applied daily and without interference from other products, this correlates with the growth cycle of the lashes, which lasts about 12 weeks and involves three phases; Anagen (growth phase), Catagen (transition phase), and Telogen (resting phase).

Each lash follows its own cycle, and about 40% of the upper lashes are in the anagen phase at any given time. If all the lashes followed the same cycle, they would be replaced simultaneously.

Anagen: In this phase, your lashes grow, and this is where iGlow serum does its magic. Lashes generally grow to a specific length, but when iGlow serum is applied, the lashes have the opportunity to reach their full potential and become longer and fuller than they normally would.

Catagen: When the lashes have reached their full potential, they stop growing, and the hair follicle begins to shrink. If a lash is plucked or falls out, it will not start growing again until this phase is over.

Telogen: This is the longest phase of the growth cycle and it generally lasts over 100 days. Lashes in this phase will eventually fall out, and a new lash will grow back in after a few weeks. This new lash will then start the cycle anew.

What happens if I stop using it?
The lashes will follow their natural growth cycle whether or not you use the serum and will be regularly replaced. When a lash falls out, it means the hair follicle has begun to produce a new hair that is in the growth phase. If this follicle does not receive iGlow, the lash will grow to its natural length.

Who can use the serum?
iGlow lash serum is suitable for anyone who wants longer and stronger lashes.

It is very rare for us to receive feedback about allergies, but if you have a history of allergies or very sensitive skin, we recommend doing a patch test before starting to use the serum. Apply a little serum on the thin skin on your arm and wait 24 hours. If no reaction occurs, you can normally use the serum. If you experience irritation, just reach out and pop us an email and we will help you 💕

For ethical reasons, no tests have been conducted on vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, individuals under 18, or those undergoing chemotherapy. The absence of tests means that we do not recommend the serum to this group. This is thus a precautionary warning and up to each individual to decide whether they want to use the serum.

Can it be used on the lower lashes?
You can use it on the lower lashes as well. However, we recommend only using the lash serum on the upper lashes. If you want to use it on the lower lashes, we recommend using the "last bit" on the brush after you have applied it to both eyelids. Also, remember to keep a distance from the actual lashes. The lash serum should not be applied directly to the lashes.

Can the lash serum be used on eyebrows?
The lash and brow serums contain the same active ingredients, but the growth cycles of lashes and brows are different, and therefore the serums are formulated differently. We therefore recommend using the serum that is tailored for the area you want to improve.

The brow serum also has a wider brush than the lash serum, which would make it difficult to dose correctly if used on the lashes. The lash serum can be used on eyebrows, but we cannot guarantee that you will achieve as good a result as when using the brow serum on the eyebrows.

Can I tint my lashes or use extensions?
Yes! You can tint your lashes as usual, and since the serum does not contain oil, it can be used with extensions if desired.

Is iGlow Lash Serum safe?
Yes, iGlow is completely safe to use. The serum has been thoroughly tested, including clinical, dermatological (skin), and ophthalmological (eye) tests to ensure optimal quality and gentleness. Documentation received by our manufacturer from independent third-party actors, compiled with studies done on the ingredients in our formula, indicates that our serum is safe and effective.

How long does a bottle last?
An iGlow Lash Maximizer contains 3 ml and usually lasts for about 3 months with normal daily use. One stroke on each eyelid per day.

Shelf life: 24 months before opening. 6 months after opening.

What are the ingredients?
Lash Maximizer serum is based on the prostaglandin derivative Isopropyl Cloprostenate (IC), which is very effective for boosting the length and fullness of lashes, Hyaluronic Acid (which moisturizes/strengthens the hairs), L-Proline (an amino acid that strengthens hair), Ginseng, and a botanical blend consisting of Grape Seed Extract and Chamomile (strengthens hair follicles).

Does iGlow contain hormones?
iGlow Lash Maximizer and iGlow Brow Maximizer are formulated without hormones and contain Isopropyl Cloprostenate (0.005%). This ingredient is listed in the EU database of cosmetic ingredients (CosIng) and is approved for use in cosmetics. Isopropyl Cloprostenate is a prostaglandin analogue, which means it is a chemical compound that mimics certain properties of natural prostaglandins.

Prostaglandins are a group of fat-like substances that naturally occur in many tissues of the body. They are involved in several biological processes such as inflammatory responses, control of blood flow, and wound healing. In medical contexts, specific prostaglandins are used as medicine to treat, for example, glaucoma and various types of eye diseases by affecting the pressure in the eye.

The Isopropyl Cloprostenate in iGlow products, however, has a completely different function. It is primarily used for its hair conditioning properties and is present to support growth and health for eyelashes and eyebrows. This ingredient acts locally on the application area to promote denser and fuller hair growth, and does not have the medical effects that prostaglandins used in eye medicine have.

It is important to understand that although Isopropyl Cloprostenate belongs to the same chemical family as prostaglandins, it is specifically developed for cosmetic use and not as a treatment for medical conditions.

Isopropyl Cloprostenate is considered safe for use in cosmetic products like eyelash serums, where it is used to promote growth and strength of eyelashes. However, as with any cosmetic ingredient, there may be potential for side effects in some users, especially those with sensitive skin or specific allergies.

Adverse effects of prostaglandin analogues are usually reported in studies where higher concentrations of medically used prostaglandin analogues are present in a medical solution, repeatedly in direct contact with the eye, such as medical versions of eye drops.

Within the EU, Isopropyl Cloprostenate is approved for use in cosmetic products, indicating that they have undergone assessment for safety and effectiveness. The iGlow formula is also tested for safety and effectiveness through dermatological and ophthalmological tests.
