What is a cookie?
For a website to function optimally, it needs to collect basic information about the ones who are using the website. To make this possible, cookies are being used. These are small text files, which are stored on your device. These cookies are designed to allow the website you’re visiting, to see that you have visited before. This gives you and us an opportunity to give and receive more customised and relevant content. Cookies have several tasks to make your Internet experience more streamlined and interactive. They can help you remember the settings you have selected on a website – i.e. your mail address or what you added to your cart yesterday – as well as navigating more efficently between different pages. The cookies also help showing ads that are more relevant to you and your interests.
Our websites contain photos which are called a “web beacon” or “pixel”, (also known as clear gifs). They collect a very limited amount of information, as well as a cookie number, a time stamp and a list of the pages which they are placed. Our websites contain these from Facebook, Snapchat and TikTok. They do not, in any way, collect personal information, and are only used to track the efficiency of a given campaign.
Information collected by cookies, are classified as personal data.
To remove the possibility of tracking via cookies, you have to change the settings in your browser. It’s easy and won’t take long. To learn how, you can click here. Please note, that when you turn off cookies, you won’t necessarily receive fewer ads when surfing online, and the ads you do receive, will be less customised to your preferences.
