Vegan & Cruelty-free
cute dog, puppy, English setter, vegan, cruelty-free, pillowcase, silk pillow, iglow lash serum is vegan and cruelty-free. iGlow and Amie are best friends.
What is the difference?
The future of the beauty industry is vegan AND cruelty-free. Not only one of them. But why do we need to refer to both terms - when one should think they are synonymous?

We live in a world with rapidly changing markets and trends come and go. Luckily, the vegan and the cruelty-free market has grown increasingly over the past years. There has been a 175% increase in Vegan Cosmetics since 2013.

We make a conscious effort to choose cruelty-free products, that are free from animal ingredients. But do we know the difference between the two?

The difference

It can be confusing trying to navigate through the cruelty-free and vegan beauty space. The line between cruelty-free and vegan is often a little blurred, and it can be confusing to separate. Without an official FDA approved definition, the two terms can be defined as:

The products, and the ingredients that were used in the product, were not tested on animals at any stage during their development.

The products contain no animal ingredients or animal by-products. Which includes well-known ingredients like honey, beeswax, gelatin, yoghurt etc.
